Despite the cull that was widely considered a failure, farmers still continued to request military assistance in the years 1934, 1943, and 1948. Naturally, they were all turned down by the government. Rather than help, they reinstated the bounty system they had in 1923 and ended up being much more effective. with over 57,000 bounties being collected in six months during the year 1934.
